Naturals Night

We scored some free tickets to the NWA Naturals tonight, so we took a quick road trip to the local minor league baseball game. It was fun, but a little too chilly with the wind blowing. We were there long enough for me to eat a pretzel with cheese :) take a few pictures and watch a few innings.

I really wanted to have a family picture with the mascot, but Zach wasn't a team player, so instead we each smiled for the camera with Kinley! Next game I am getting my pic with Switch the sasquatch whether Zach is in or not.

5 Generations

Yep, that's right! 5 Generations!
Here's a pic of Kinley with her Great-Great Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Grandmother, and Me. How cool is that?!

I have been lucky enough to know all but 2 of my great-grandparents, but not any great-great grandparents. Just a little trivia....the two greats that passed away before I was born were both named Clarence hince why my and Kinley's middle names, Clare, are spelled without an "i". Ok, sorry, I digress.
We had a fabulous weekend in South AR with family and friends. And even made it to two wedding showers. Here are some highlights.

K in the walker Mimi bought for her. She loved it!
K tearing up Mimi's beautiful petunias. Mimi did allow her to do this. I guess that's what grandparents are for...to allow their grandchildren to do whatever they want. Great...Zach and I are in trouble!

Here's a pic with some of by besties from high school at Mandi's wedding shower. Paige, Mandi, Lauren, Heather, K and me.

Kinley is kind of making her Elvis lip, as we call it, in this pic. This is her cousin Aiden.

In other big news, Kinley cut her first tooth! (picture coming soon)

I'm sad there will be no more toothless grins and already tired knowing there are many more teeth to come and all the fussiness that comes in the package deal.

Also, I am going to be an Auntie again!....and this time it's a girl Belle-Isle!

Happy Hump Day!

Cover Kid

Hi Friends and Family,

We wanted to let you know that we've entered Kinley into the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life Cover Kid Contest, which is an online voting contest for the opportunity to raise money for the American Cancer Society.

The entrant raising the most money will be featured on the cover of PEEKABOO magazine's July 2009 issue. The children placing in the overall top 10 will have their photos printed inside the same issue.

Truly, we don't really care about her picture in the magazine, but cancer is a disease very close to our hearts and we want to help as many cancer patients as possible. This is a small way we can give back. We realize that times are a little hard, but even $5 helps....just skip your next Starbucks trip and give the $$ to help fight cancer.

Below is the link to Kinley's site.
Simply click on the link, then click donate below her picture.

It used to be so painful....

I remember Easter mornings as a child being so painful and irritating. Why? Because we ALWAYS took family pics before church. Kent and I were always the best dressed (thanks Mom!), but why so many pictures and why every year? (sigh)

Well, I totally get it now! Since Kinley has come along, I've come full circle. I love taking pictures of her...not many days go by where I don't take her pic. Who can resist that sweet face anyway?!!

All this being said, I, for the first time, actually enjoyed taking Easter morning pics...at least at much as possible trying to get a 5 month old to cooperate. So here they are. Enjoy!

He Is Risen!

This weekend we are remembering the real reason we celebrate Easter. It's because Jesus died for us and rose from the grave to that we can truly live.

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." John 3:16

"For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God" Romans 3:23

"that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation." Romans 10:9-10

"for Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved." Romans 10:13

What a true gift it is! Can you imagine giving your only child? His gift is free! Have you accepted His gift?

Got kids??....

Got kids?
Live in Northwest Arkansas?
Want to help raise money for cancer patients?

If you answered yes to all three of these questions then you need to enter your child in the Cover Kid Contest! It is a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society.

Here's how it works in a nut shell.....you send in a pic of your child with a $10 entry fee. The American Cancer Society will set up a fundraising webpage for your child with their pic on it. Then you send it to all you friends and family and they dontate money. The child who raises the most money gets to be on the cover of Peek-A-Boo magazine's July eddition. The top 10 biggest fundraisers get their pic in the magazine, too! Isn't that fun?!!...but more importantly it is for a worthy cause.

So fill out the form and send it in....there's only a week left to sign up. Click here for the details. Now get moving!

If you have more questions about the American Cancer Society and what they do, please let me know. I am a proud ACS volunteer and would love to answer any questions!
Have a great weekend!

Budget cuts...

Now that we are a one income family, there have been several budget cuts. One of the cuts was grooming for our first two children (or dogs) however you would like to refer to them. But schnauzers must have regular grooming or they will look homeless. So....I've become their new groomer. Don't look too closely, but for free, it will have to do.
Gabby and Jetta after they got their hair did!

I can't have 2 posts in a row without a pic of the princess...
