a performance

Kinley loves to sing these days. And of course I just think it's the cutest thing I've ever seen! Luckily I had the camera close by and she actually kept singing. Usually she sees the camera and throws a fit.
I'll translate for you....the first song is Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes and the second is Wheels on the Bus.
Several of you have asked about the pictures from yesterdays post. I took them at the back of our neighborhood. I'm far from a good photographer but I did have a pretty good (though not always cooperative) subject!

Are you kidding me?

Yesterday Kinley and I were having a fun morning of playing with dolls, reading and working puzzles when we get a call from Daddy at work. He invites us to "tour de pants," a tricycle race at his work. I giggled and asked why he had really called.  Daddy was serious about this race, so we decided to take him up on his offer...of course I had to see men riding tricycles!

Well he wasn't kidding. This is an organized event with a real track, team t-shirts, concessions, emcees, trophies, the whole bit.  Zach's team, the 99ers, got second overall. They were excited to say the least.  I was so astonished at the sight I couldn't even concentrated long enough to get many pictures, but here's what I came away with.

Along with a team name, you must create a "tend-like" sponsor. His faux sponsor was Jay-Z! ha!
Daddy was the pit crew chief. His job was to give the driver a bottle of water after the driver pitted and ran around the trike 3 times. Are you envisioning the sight? Hysterical!
Here's K and DaDa chatting with the driver for the 99ers

Here's a view of the track and crowd

The tour de pants Commissioner presenting the trophies
Glad we got to experience this! I found out this was the 4th annual!
Are you kidding me?!

We got a surprise visit from uncle K this week!

Many of you have probably seen it on the news, but there is severe flooding at Camp Albert Pike in Southwest AR. I have such fond memories of this place as a child with many Girl Scout outtings and campouts.
Please pray for the people affected by the flood and for the rescue workers. So far 17 have been found dead and many more are waiting to see if there loved ones have been found.

Recent Fun

These are more pics of Memorial Day weekend.
We have the best parks and trails in NWA.  We've recently found a trail that is almost completely shaded!

Just realizing that I should have cropped the pic below! No time for that now. I'm so thankful K is napping so I can squeeze in a quick post :)

We had breakfast here!

We made a day trip to Eureka and rode the trolly around town. Kinley sang "wheels on the bus" most of the ride!

Not sure if you can tell but behind the fence, left middle of the pic, is a wooden Humpty Dumpty statue. Kinley was infatuated with it!  She wouldn't eat her lunch and all she could say was "Dunty-Dunty" and whine to see it. Thankfully Mony ate quickly and took K to see it while the rest of us enjoyed our lunch.

While they were admiring HD they actually got to meet his owner.  She told them HD was a solid piece of white oak (I think) and he was specially carved and place on the hill in front of her hom by a crane! If you're in the area, give HD a shout out from us!
Since the HD sighting, K wants us to draw HD with her chalk on the sidewalk. I am the furthest thing from an artist, so the sidewalks around here have been quite a sight, to say the least!

Ok, nap is over and momma is back on the clock!
